Personality
Skid is a very short fused, very cocky lil so-and-so that thinks that hes the hot cross bun of the bakery. He often makes up stories or exadurates them, To make him sound heroic, or courageous. When he couldnt be further from, when the situation gets dicey...
His temper however is typical of an ambush predator, you tick him off (which doesnt take a great deal) he will more than likley (try to) sting you. (and arachnarekos sting even from the smaller males is often fatal) His temprement is much less forgiving than meis...
Design traits
Skid is a creature known as an "Arachnarekos" and has 3 venomous stingers (two on the end of his arms, and one at the end of his abdomen), and 2 hidden fangs located behind his cheeks, his chest fluff also has poisonous spines. That are urdicating and cause immense irritation, discomfort, repiratory problems and blindess if it gets in the eyes...
His legs can comfortably swivel 180 degrees to allow him to traverse webs. when this happens, his sensing tufts on the back of his arms prickle up to help him sense trapped prey on his web.
Skid is covered in a hard carapace exoskeleton which is enough to resist damage from most things in the natural kingdom. He is also able to fly with his 4 wings which make very little noise as he is flying allowing him to sneak up on unsuspecting prey.
Believe it or not skid (aside from his fangs) does not have any teeth, arachnarekos rely on pre-disolving their prey with the venom and then sorta biting into them and sucking the prey from the inside out after about 30 seconds.

History and inspiration
The arachnarekos race is one of my own, It was partially inspired by the manga "Kumo desu ga, nani ka?", basically where the main protagonist is turned into a spider and dropped into some kind of video game, its quite fun to read, I recommend it!
The arachnarekos race was first designed on the 13th of july 2018
So mei specifically is not the first arachnarekos that I designed, but she is the first to be assigned a personality. The design mostly came from my head as I really wanted to try making an insect/ arachnid looking creature, So I took elements of a moth, wasp, spider and put the elements in a bipedal form, I added additional elements that I thought the design called for, such as the scythe picker arms, point feet and generally a sharp and kinda jagged appearance, which people often associated with insects, And hey presto the arachnarekos race was born!
I did attempt to try and give them 8 limbs initially, but they looked a little too much like a spider and made the design look kinda awkward and clumsy, so I removed 4 of the legs to give a more nimble and less clumsy appearance.
Skid was actually based on the first arachnarekos ever made, however I did change some aspects so I cant really say that the original design was skid...
